With more platforms than ever in the storytelling space, comes more players and audiences. Content creators need to be more specific than ever in how they pitch their projects, targeting the specific needs and requirements for each platform via research and prepare for to make the pitch count.
This GCFF workshop is a unique opportunity to hear from broadcasters about the challenges and opportunities that exist with the development and pitching processes, where you will learn the new parts of the equation necessary for a winning pitch.

A panel of feature film directors come together to discuss the process, experience and differences directing their first feature films. Learn from them as they walk through the enormity of getting their feature from pitch to screen and their insights into the process. EMERGE! is a showcase of short films from some of Queensland’s most recent graduating film students. The event is designed to showcase the best and brightest film talent from Queensland’s next generation of filmmakers from film schools, universities and TAFE. The Best Student Short Film Award with a $250 cash prize will be awarded on the night to the best film, as judged by Gold Coast Film Festival Program Director Rich Haridy and a Screen Queensland representative.

6pm-8pm: ASE Guild Event – Bluey case study

Meet the producer (Sam Moor) and some of the key creative team behind the most viewed ABC iView show of all time – Bluey, as they discuss the post production mechanics involved in getting a 52-part animated series out each week. Panelists will the scope of work, how it is facilitated, what it takes and their individual approach to post-production for this amazing hit show.
