GCFF - Bringing Films To Life - April 20 - May 1 2022 GCFF - Bringing Films To Life - April 20 - May 1 2022

Have you been secretly shooting short films in isolation? Or working on a script when you should have been working from home? Maybe you have a feature film that you’re ready to show to the world? Feature film, short, webseries or feature film script – we want to see it! Submissions are now open for the 2021 Gold Coast Film Festival.

Gold Coast Film Festival is an AACTA-Award qualifying film festival bringing diverse Australian and International films, filmmakers and film events to the Gold Coast.

Feature films are in for a chance to be crowned the PKF Best Australian Film Award open to all Australian features, or the Blackmagic Design Best Australian Indie Film Award, with a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6k (valued at over $3,000) awarded to an independent Australian film.

Shorts from Australia and around the world will compete for $5,000 cash across 7 categories at SIPFest on the sands of Surfers Paradise Beach, including the $1,000 People’s Choice Award voted for by the audience on the night!

Webseries will compete for the chance to screen at GCFF2021 and take home the Best Australian Webseries ($500 cash) or Best International Webseries.

GCFF also accepts feature film scripts from Queensland-based writers with $5,000 cash awarded for the Queensland Screenwriting Award thanks to The Heaton Group plus a VIP Industry Networking Package and the chance to participate in a live script read with local actors during the 2021 Gold Coast Film Festival. We’ll also award $500 cash to 2nd and 3rd place.

Nominations are also open for GCFF’s industry awards – Queensland Screen Business of the Year and Gold Coast Screen Professional of the Year – designed to recognize and celebrate the screen businesses and individuals contributing to the local industry. Click here for more details.

Entries are now open through Film Freeway and close January 31, 2021.
