Woman At War

Woman At War

Comedy/Drama | Iceland

Halla is in her late 40s, a choir leader, and beloved by all in her small Icelandic town. Unbeknownst to her friends, Halla is also an undercover eco-warrior, battling the growing corporate mining interests that are spreading throughout the land. When a long awaited adoption application is accepted, Halla is forced to make a decision between becoming a new mother and saving the environment.

Is Woman At War a comedy, drama, thriller, musical or all of the above? This intelligent, uplifting film is simply warm-hearted, crowd-pleasing cinema at its finest – a strange beast of a near-perfect movie that is simultaneously silly, serious, funny and gripping.
