GCFF - Escape to a world of film - 14-25 April 2021 GCFF - Escape to a world of film - 14-25 April 2021

Australian Premiere | Egypt/UK | Drama/Romance

Andrea Riseborough is superb as the aid worker struggling with trauma and seeking regeneration in this thoughtful romantic drama. The backdrop of Luxor and grandeur of historical monuments make this a visually stunning and poignant feature film.

When British aid worker Hana returns to the ancient city of Luxor, she comes across Sultan, a talented archeologist and former lover. As she wanders, haunted by the familiar place, she struggles to reconcile the choices of the past with the uncertainty of the present. Luxor is the third feature film from writer and director Zeina Durra.
