Horror in the Hinterland

Horror in the Hinterland

Up a winding mountain road, on a dark Springbrook street surrounded by trees, a night of horror awaits the bravest.

This spine tingling outdoor event begins with the Australian Premiere screening of THE FURIES, a new bloody Australian survival thriller, followed by a screening of the 2012 twisted slasher flick CABIN IN THE WOODS.

THE FURIES follows seven young women who are abducted and forced to take part in a deadly game. Produced by Lisa Shaunessy (Killing Ground) and starring Airlie Dodds (Killing Ground, Neighbours, Ready For This and Rake) the film is the debut feature for writer/director Tony D’Aquino and has been described as “reinventing the old-school slasher movie”

THE FURIES filmmakers and selected cast will be in attendance.

Set in one of the most unique film screening locations the Gold Coast has to offer – this is a one-night only event that will be full of surprises – including the exact location, which will be revealed to ticketholders closer to the night.

Food and drink will be available to purchase on the night. Bring a rug or foldable chair, some beanbags are available. Gates open from 5.45pm, film at 7pm.

There is free on-site parking or return bus transfers from Nerang Train Station are available for $15. For a cheeky weekend, Springbrook has many accommodation options from budget to hinterland luxe.

GCFF would like to thank Division 9 Councillor Glenn Tozer for his generous support of this event.
