An impressive debut feature from writer/director Monica Zanetti, adapted for the big screen from the play by the same name. LGBTIQ history is intermingled smartly the story of first love, in this genuine and endearing rom com.

When school captain Ellie falls for her rebellious classmate Abbie, teenage awkwardness gets in the way of her plan to ask Abbie to the year 12 formal. Then Ellie’s dead aunt re-appears as a ‘fairy godmother’ and Ellie’s pursuit of love gets more complicated.

The ensemble cast includes Marta Dusseldorp (Stateless, Janet King), Rachel House (Hunt for the Wilderpeople) and Julia Billington (Mr Inbetween) with Sophie Hawkshaw (Love Child) and Zoe Terakes (Wentworth).
