Australian Premiere | USA | Drama

Kate Winslet, Mia Wasikowska, Susan Sarandon and Sam Neill headline this authentic drama about family, love and saying goodbye.

Lily (Susan Sarandon) is dying. The pain of losing herself to illness is too much to bear so she decides, with help from her husband Paul (Sam Neill), that she’ll take matters into her own hands. She assembles her family so they can spend a final weekend together. But there’s tension between her daughters, both struggling with personal issues. Other family secrets are revealed as the weekend progresses and digresses. Blackbird was adapted from the 2014 Danish film Silent Heart by its original screenwriter, Christian Torpe.
