GCFF - Bringing films to life - 17-29 April 2018 GCFF - Bringing films to life - 17-29 April 2018

The opening night is shaping up to be what will be one of the biggest nights in the Gold Coast Film Festival this year.

A Queensland premier of ‘Eddie the Eagle’ starring Hugh Jackman and Taron Egerton is the opening night film, about the realisation of the childhood dream of unlikely English icon, Eddie, and his unflinching determination to become Great Britain’s first Olympic ski-jumper. With Hugh Jackman on board as coach, Eddie the Eagle is an uplifting, inspirational story that celebrates the human spirit, passion, and one man’s refusal to accept defeat.

There will be a red carpet, with local celebrities attending to support the film and mark the beginning of the 2016 Gold Coast Film Festival.

A fun-filled night that will be social, energetic and a celebration of film!
