Gold Coast Film Festival and Queensland Writers Centre (QWC), with the support of Screen Queensland, have teamed up to present national author pitch competition, ADAPTABLE at the 2020 Gold Coast Film Festival.
Launched in 2019 by Screen Queensland and Queensland Writers Centre, Adaptable is a national writers competition and pitching program aimed at bringing more Australian book adaptations to the screen.
Open to writers across Australia and New Zealand, the contest accepts any genre, fiction or non-fiction, published or unpublished work.
25 successful authors will have the opportunity to pitch published or publication-ready novels, short stories, biographies and non-fiction works to producers, showrunners and screenwriters at one-on-one pitch meetings on Thursday 16 April, 2020 during the Gold Coast Film Festival at HOTA.
Adaptable will join a pitching program as part of the 2020 Gold Coast Film Festival. The program will include one-on-one arranged meetings, open pitching sessions, discussion panels, workshops, industry networking and more. Details to be announced soon.
Submissions for ADAPTABLE are currently open through QWC and close January 26. For guidelines and submissions visit www.queenslandwriters.org.au/adaptable.
The Gold Coast Film Festival runs 15-26 April, 2020 across the Gold Coast.
