Alan Dean Foster - Writing master class
12.05pm Friday 20th April
He’s adapted Star Wars and Alien, he wrote Star Trek, he’s producing a feature film of Spellsinger and his Commonwealth series is a cornerstone of science fiction literature. Now Alan Dean Foster will make a special guest appearance at this year's festival and share his writing secrets at a master class on Friday April 20th.

Bleach - Anime master class
2.15pm Friday 20th April
Masakazu Morita, the voice of lead character Ichigo Kurosaki in the Japanese anime series Bleach, and Bleach director Noriyuki Abe will hold a ninety-minute anime master class on Friday the 20th of April, which will include a discussion of why Bleach has received such international adoration, the process of voice acting and directing voice actors, as well as key advice to Australians wishing to work in the industry. It’s a rare chance to interact with key figures of this international phenomenon.

FREE industry seminars
11am-12pm, Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th April
Film makers and fans alike shouldn't miss out on these two free seminars at Stingray Lawn in Surfers Paradise. On Saturday the 28th surf film maker Jack McCoy will discuss his work and what those who wish to follow in his footsteps can do to achieve their goals. On Sunday 29th panellists will discuss the future of film distribution and the power of VOD.

Schools program
From 10am Monday 23rd April
For the first time in our ten-year history, the Gold Coast Film Festival will be hosting a day of FREE secondary schools seminars for future filmmakers and those curious about the industry and all its possibilities on April 23rd at the Robina Community Centre. The day will feature discussions with both national and international industry experts.
