It will be no surprise to learn that the poster for the 2012 Gold Coast Film Festival, presented by Australia Fair Shopping Centre, bears a kick ass Gold Coast Super Hero symbolizing the film fest’s move to a pop culture focus in 2012.
The poster has been created by the leading film and entertainment design company in Australia, Carnival Studio. The illustration was created by Cam Scale who works as part of Aisle6ix Industries.
Of the direction, Demi Hopkins of Carnival Studio says “The brief was to develop a poster which highlighted the 2012 pop culture focus and the GCFF’s new cultural partnership with Supanova. Casey had a definite idea for a Gold Coast Super Hero very early on, and initially she was a lot more safe looking, but we decided that just wouldn’t cut it. The poster invokes the idea that the film festival is breaking new ground and has a program that is bold and exciting.”
