Anime Exhibit on Display Now at Robina Community Center

The Gold Coast Film Festival Cool Japan Art Exhibition curated by CoMix Wave Films’ Kano Takahashi is now open!
For anyone interested in anime you must come and see the work. It is nothing short of amazing. 90% of the work is from Makoto Shinkai’s Children Who Chase Lost Voices from Deep Below, which is screening in the GCFF and nominated for Best Animated Feature Film at this year’s Asia Pacific Screen Awards, and on display are:-
- Original concept drawings by Makoto Shinkai.
- High resolution stills from the film showcasing Makoto Shinkai’s visually stunning background landscapes for which he is famous.
- Original background concept art by the Background Art Director.
- Original character concept art by the Animation Director.
- Original Layouts with hand written revisions by Makoto Shinkai, further draft and final film still. Showing the animation process in great detail.
- Original storyboards attaching animation to script.
The exhibition officially opens tomorrow at 11am. It is at Robina Community Centre from Nov 16-27 and entry is FREE. If you come on Friday 25th, you can hear Noritaka Kawaguchi (producer of Children Who Chase Lost Voices from Deep Below) speak on anime film making at 2.30pm at Robina, see the exhibition then see the Australian Premiere of the film at 7pm with introduction. The seminar with Noritaka is also free and film tickets to the screening at Australia Fair are just $12.
