Free Family Outdoor Screenings
In addition to the main program, the 2011 Gold Coast Film Festival, presented by Australia Fair Shopping Centre, is proud to present free outdoor screenings for film fans of all ages at the Southport Broadwater Parklands.
On Saturday, the 19th of November families can enjoy a behind-the-scenes look at the annual Penguin World Surfing Championship in Surf’s Up at 6:30PMfollowed by the original Men in Black (PG), the sci-fi comedy classic starring Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones from 8:00PM.
Sunday, the 20th of November will feature Spirited Away (PG), a Japanese anime from acclaimed director Hayao Miyazaki. A spellbinding and touching film, Spirited Away should not be missed by anyone. The film starts at 6:30PM.
On Saturday, the 26th of November come along andenjoy Muppets in Space (G), the first Muppets film released after the passing of the series’ legendary creator Jim Henson at 6:30PMthen stick around for some alien fun in Men in Black 2 at 8:00PM.
Closing the outdoor screening program on Sunday, the 27th of November will be the original The Karate Kid (PG), starring Ralph Macchio and Pat Morita. A classic family-action flick, the film screens at 6:30PM.
